Who
we are. 
RGW
Media, a division of RGW & Associates, Inc. was created
to publish ON-ICE magazine, providing hockey information
for minor hockey players, coaches, parents, referees
and fans. The magazine's first issue was published in
September 2000 and was mailed to all 13,000 registered
players in the Minor Hockey Association of Calgary.
THE
NEWSLETTER...
 The
seeds of the magazine began in hockey association board
meetings. Here, there was clearly a lack of effective
communication, not among board members, although that
could also improve, but from board members to the hundreds
of association members. There were too many questions
being asked and not answered among the membership. A
newsletter was needed and someone had to start it. There
was much opposition to the idea and the need for it.
It was thought that each member community in the hockey
association had a newsletter and was available to the
association to get the necessary hockey information
to the membership. However on reviewing the community
newsletters there was a definite lack of information
about the association. The association needed it's own
newsletter. After publishing 15 consecutive newsletters
from 1998 to 2000 the idea of communicating to a larger
audience was obvious.
THE MAGAZINE...
 The
first issue of ON-ICE magazine was published in September
2000. It was an instant success with readers and many
questions about when the next issue will be out have
been fielded. Three issues have been published to date.
We are working with Calgary Hockey Development and the
Minor Hockey Association of Calgary to ensure we can
publish further issues.
